Just recently, another thing happened which gave me yet another reason of why it is not fun to live in this supposedly-lawful country. On May 13, 2009, Prita Mulyasari was detained in jail following a defamation suit by a hospital chain in this country, Omni Hospitals.

One of my previous blog posts talked about this yearning of mine for positive things in the Internet, be they blog posts, forum shouts, status updates, or anything else. In it, I used an analogy to illustrate my stance on the right to say anything in the Internet, and why we should nevertheless be careful what to say. If you will bear with me for a while, I want to re-enact the example briefly here

Recently, I was kept afar from this blog by a personal demon of mine : My HIV. Clinically in AIDS stage now, it made me really angry when some people made some very stupid and silly allegations as can be read here. There, a supposedly “medical” organization condemned the use of condoms because it supposedly “cannot prevent the spreading of HIV/AIDS” and “encourages free sex”.
